Limited

Do you ever feel like there is a ridiculous amount of restriction within the entertainment industry here in the UK? Why is it though? Why do we feel this way? Mostly because we are embarrassed by how Hollywood  draws us more than anything that ever comes out of the UK. But is it possible to co-exist or will the UK always be a mere speck in comparison? The truth is, who knows. Those 'guys at the top' who pretty much control what goes on here want to keep hold of their influence. The studios don't care because they will make movies/tv shows regardless. And all the top actors and crew in the UK move out to America to further their career there.
It makes it virtually impossible for anything coming out of the UK to be recognised. Just look at our tv shows. We have no pilot season, and any show that does make it on to our televisions last a season or two with only 6 episodes or so. It's screaming to be re-jigged. A perfect example would be "The Inbetweeners". Rated the number 1 show in the UK, and after 3 season, 18 episodes, it gets cancelled..I mean seriously, is there really no invention? And don't even get me started on the BBC. Let me just stop but first by saying they are thieves and as they are government backed, no one can ever sue them..
So what can be done? Is the industry dying here in the UK? I guess time will tell..
Till next time folks..Have a great week and feel free to post your own comments/opinions!!

  1. I agree completely. There is a huge amount of restriction within the entertainment industry in the UK. As a result, the most talented actors, screenwriters, crew etc. aren't even being acknowledged. The industry is suffering. This situation has to change.
